The gist
The community provided feedback on two potential options for the 2024-25 academic calendar through an online survey that closed Dec. 1 at 5 p.m.
A total of about 10,000 votes were cast, with 41% in favor of Draft A and 59% in favor of Draft B with adjustments, per district documents.
The final calendar can be viewed here. It includes Aug. 20 as the first day of classes and May 29 as the last day of classes.
The calendar will include:
- 187 teacher contract days
- 5 days for the Thanksgiving holiday
- 10 days for winter break
- 5 days for spring break
- 26 staff holidays
- 2 elementary parent conference days
- 2 learning exchange days for school staff
The District Calendar Task Force—which consists of families and staff, and creates a calendar for each academic year—developed both options with changes that include when the district goes on breaks during the school year.
