Chinese restaurant Wu Chow closed its north location in the Rosedale neighborhood this month after its Austin-based parent company Chameleon Hospitality was acquired by an undisclosed private equity-backed restaurant group.

The acquisition includes both the Swift Attic and Wu Chow brands, and in order to maintain the quality of service and guest experience of the two downtown concepts the new ownership has chosen to close the North Lamar location, according to a statement on social media.

“This acquisition is not just a passing of the torch but an opportunity to continue the proud legacy of Chameleon Hospitality, while positioning the company for further success and growth in the years to come,” the company wrote in the statement.

The north Wu Chow location opened in early 2023, while the downtown location has served guests since 2015.
