The menu has flame-seared and pressed sushi, as well as classic rolls. Some specialties include the Aburi Salmon Oshi, with sockeye salmon, jalapeño, black pepper and house sauce; and the Mexican-inspired Aburi Yellowtail Oshi with yellowtail, cilantro, avocado sauce and serrano pepper.
"We are honored to introduce our flame-seared style of sushi to Austin, and to add to the vibrant food scene here," Aburi Corporate Chef Kazuki Uchigoshi said in a statement. "Our expansion outside of Canada marks a significant milestone for us, and we’re thrilled to be a part of the Austin and overall Texas dining community."
Aburi Oshi is the first United States venture for the Aburi Restaurants group, which now operates several concepts in Japan and Canada. Sushi is offered through the CloudKitchens ghost kitchen company for pickup, delivery or catering service daily from 11 a.m.-9 p.m.
