Customers lined the block for a taste of SusieCakes baked goods during a grand opening Sept. 6 of the company’s second location in Central Texas.
The bakery sells “very straightforward and simplistic classic American desserts,” owner Susie Sarich told Community Impact.

“[My recipes] are just like something that a grandmother in the 1950s or '60s would be making for their families, because that’s exactly where the recipes came from. They’re all of my grandmothers’, Mildred and Madeline, recipes—all derived from three-by-five handwritten recipe cards,” Sarich said.
The bakery specializes in classic desserts like cakes, cupcakes and cookies made from scratch by in-house bakers. The company does not use any mixes, artificial preservatives, high-fructose corn syrups or trans-fats.
The store will also offer delivery services for bakery customers.
