A new restaurant and terrace bar are launching early this fall at the Hyatt Centric Congress Avenue Austin downtown.

The overview

The Tradition, An American Kitchen will open on the hotel's ground floor, and the Heydey Social Club will open on the eighth floor terrace. The spaces replace Las Bis and Luminaire, which closed earlier this year.

“We can’t wait to welcome everyone to Heydey Social Club and The Tradition, two exciting new additions to Austin’s downtown restaurant and bar scenes,” Harrison Compton, the hotel's general manager, said in a statement. “Each concept is designed to create a relaxed atmosphere that reflects the vibrant spirit of Austin, where guests can enjoy delicious dishes and drinks while experiencing the essence of our city.”

The Tradition's full-service eatery will serve up American fare with international influences, and offer happy hour from 3-5 p.m. Reservations aren't required to dine in, but are available through OpenTable.

On the menu

Breakfast items include Horchata Overnight Oats, eggs Benedict and the Brisket Omelet. Salads, hand rolls, sandwiches and burgers will be available for lunch and dinner, alongside entrees like barbecue dishes and a Salmon Oscar with crab, hollandaise and poached asparagus. Drinks will include classic cocktails and Texas beers, wines and spirits.

Upstairs, the retro European-inspired Heydey will offer a seasonal cocktail menu as well as beer, wine and nonalcoholic beverages. Small dishes like a sampler plate, Crab Arancini and Steak Tartare will also be available.

Both concepts' food and drinks are overseen by Executive Chef Iain Reddick, who joined the hotel this spring after stints at The Driskill and other Hyatt locations in Florida.

The 31-story downtown Hyatt is home to 246 rooms and more than 2,500 square feet of meeting space. More information and booking is available on the hotel's website.
