The backstory
Texas French Bread closed in January 2022 after a fire damaged the white brick building at 2900 Rio Grande St., Austin. The bakery had been open since 1981.
Wilcot and Ries have been taking steps to revive the bakery since its closure.
Texas French Bread is now operating out of an Airstream trailer in the garden next to the parking lot. Guests can order pastries, sandwiches, salads and coffee.
