A new Cajun restaurant serving up Po’ Boys, seafood and frozen cocktails will open in a renovated gas station May 7.

Lil’ Easy Cajun Garage is located at 5000 E. Cesar Chavez St., Austin.

On the menu

Lil’ Easy’s menu features Cajun classics including hushpuppies, oysters, gumbo and jambalaya. The menu also includes a variety of Po’ Boys, such as shrimp, prime rib, pork belly and crispy battered fish, served with crinkle cut fries.

The beverage menu includes cocktails, beer, and several frozen drinks that can be ordered with or without alcohol, including cherry limeade and banana creme flavors.

Rum cakes, banana cream pie, root beer floats and pralines are available for dessert.

Meet the owners

Lil’ Easy is helmed by Baton Rouge natives Stephen Shallcross of 2Dine4 Hospitality and chef Evan Morgan.

“I’m excited to bring the nostalgia of my childhood to my city. I grew up on boudin and crawfish. Sometimes out of old gas stations,” Shallcross said. “So getting to share authentic Cajun cuisine in a similar setting has been a dream of mine since I opened my first restaurant.”
