A new restaurant touting elevated American cuisine, Alice in Wonderland-inspired cocktails and nightly DJ sets is set to open in downtown Austin next month.

The Guest House will open doors to its 100-seat dining room at 110 San Antonio St., Austin.

On the menu

Guest House will serve New American dishes including steaks, wagyu burgers and buttermilk chicken tenders. The menu’s star items include the charred Moroccan beet, the seared Faroe Island salmon and the forest mushroom pizza with slow-cooked bacon, fontina and truffle.

Guest House’s Alice in Wonderland-inspired drinks will be served in decorative glasses: the Tea Party, a seasonal sangria, is served in a teapot and the Tulgey Woods, a margarita, is served in a pot with a small cotton candy tree surrounded by aromatic fog. Beer, cider and wine are also available.

Guest House also offers fresh brioche, sourdough, cinnamon rolls, lemon meringue pies and other baked goods from in-house baker Conor Smith and pastry chef Brigette Contreras.

Quote of note

"The Guest House will offer a lively bar, a dining room perfect for large parties, late-night dining, a fun brunch patio, a fantastic bread program, a memorable cocktail list and grab-and-go options, all within Austin’s bustling downtown," said Johann Moonesinghe, partner of The Guest House and inKind CEO, in a news release. “We want The Guest House to be your home away from home.”

What else?

The restaurant spans 7,000 square feet with a 100-seat main dining room, two private dining areas, a lounge and a patio. The interior features big windows, comfortable, “loungey” seating and floral decor, representatives said.
