A new Italian cafe is set to open on Black Friday inside The Frances Modern Inn in the former East Austin Uncle Nicky's spot.

Intero chefs Krystal Craig and Ian Thurwachter are at the helm of Poeta, which will offer an all-day menu with their spins on classic dishes, according to a news release.

Some of the breakfast dishes that will be offered include eggs Benedict with gnocco fritto, prosciutto and bearnaise; brasato panino with provolone, peperonata and roasted garlic; and crab cake with preserved lemon, watercress and mint, alongside a wafflegato served with maple gelato and espresso.

Lunch options will feature dishes such as Bibb salad with prosciutto, pea shoots and prosecco vinaigrette; and fried chicken picatta with shaved fennel and endive.

For dinner, guests can choose from dishes such as grilled octopus with olive oil poached potatoes, capers and chiles; gnocchi with braised lamb and tomato butter; and risotto with bone marrow, grilled greens and salsa verde—with vegan options, as well as desserts, that will be available.

Poeta will offer a full-service bar, in addition to Italian cafe drinks, such as espressos and coffees.
