Bastrop City Council greenlights new turn lane into Burleson Crossing East development

A new turn lane on the frontage road of Hwy. 71 onto Ed Burleson Road into the upcoming Burleson Crossing East retail development is one step closer to being constructed.


Once completed, the turn lane is anticipated to improve traffic flow and congestion in the area. Burleson Crossing East is slated to include a Sprouts and LongHorn Steakhouse, according to previous reporting by Community Impact.

TXDOT to add free frontage roads between Whitestone, Avery Ranch in Cedar Park

The Texas Department of Transportation will soon begin a project to help alleviate traffic along the 183A Toll corridor in Cedar Park.


This summer, TXDOT will begin construction on non-tolled frontage roads to connect Whitestone Boulevard and Avery Ranch Boulevard. The approximately 3-mile project is slated to begin this summer, with an estimated completion date of 2028, according to TXDOT.

Italian chain restaurant Olive Garden looks to be on its way to Cibolo.

According to a listing from the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, a new Olive Garden location at 17974 I-35 N. frontage road in Cibolo will be complete in April 2026.

After traveling and visiting other local breakfast spots across the country, locals Sarah and Joe Silvernail decided to open their own restaurant in New Braunfels.

"We were like, 'Man, I wish this was in New Braunfels,'...so we took inspiration from a lot of dishes and we wanted to bring some of that stuff that we like back home," Joe Silvernail said.
