Hello Sweetie BBQ closes in Georgetown, benefit planned for owner in March
Georgetown’s Hello Sweetie BBQ closed in January, owner Al Shankle said.
The barbecue spot served brisket, sandwiches, soul food and more. Shankle decided to close shop due to an upcoming back surgery and to continue to fight his battle with cancer, which he said is getting better.

City of Kyle increases speed limit on I-35 northbound frontage road
Drivers will see a speed limit increase on the northbound I-35 frontage road in Kyle.
After the Texas Department of Transportation conducted a speed study on both I-35 frontage roads within Kyle's jurisdiction, Kyle City Council voted to set the speed limit at 55 mph on the entire northbound frontage road.

New Braunfels locals to convert downtown historic building into Irish bar
New Braunfels locals Kyle Kennedy, Lalita Kennedy and Joseph Collins will be converting The Voigt House—one of New Braunfels’ oldest historic buildings—into an Irish bar called Kennedy’s Tavern this fall.
The project, located at 308 E. San Antonio St., is being engineered by Dillo Development Services. The architect on the project is ArtArch LLC, and the general contractor on the project is Contractor Kyle LLC.

New Braunfels City Council approves incentive agreement with Costco
New Braunfels City Council approved a Chapter 380 economic incentive agreement for a 150,000-square-foot Costco Wholesale store Feb. 10.
The project will be located within the Mayfair development at 330 Addstine Lane in New Braunfels, according to previous reporting by Community Impact.
