The business announced a plan Jan. 17 to launch four stores across the country featuring a new format, plan and order points. A plan and order IKEA store allows customers to meet with an IKEA expert to plan and order furnishings for areas, such as kitchens, bathrooms and bedrooms, according to the news release.
The new location will also feature a pickup point, giving customers the option to arrange for pickup of in-person and online orders.
How it works
According to IKEA’s website, a plan and order point has three steps:
- Step 1: Plan and order furnishings with an IKEA specialist with a free appointment.
- Step 2: Have furniture delivered to the pickup point or home.
- Step 3: Assemble furniture with the option of professional assistance.
The store will be located at 3306 Esperanza Crossing, Austin, and has an anticipated opening date of summer 2024.
