After nearly two years downtown, Wax Myrtle's will shutter its restaurant and bar space Dec. 31.

Located on the fourth floor of the Thompson Austin and Tommie Austin hotels, Wax Myrtle's offers a pool, deck and covered cabanas in addition to the indoor bar and dining areas.

With Executive Chef Nick Erven at the helm, Wax Myrtle's boasts a Southern Californian-meets-Texan menu featuring chilled seafood, tacos, smashburgers and more.

The last day of service will be Dec. 31 from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Until then, the restaurant's team said they invite the public to join them at Happy's, their Wax Myrtle's holiday pop-up.

Thompson Austin officials said they have a new dining concept in mind they plan to open in early 2024; however, no details have been released.
