A new yoga studio offering a wide range of classes, events and a full service coffee and kombucha bar will open doors in Northwest Austin in mid-December.

The studio, called The Retreat, will be split into two parts, one for practicing yoga and the other for relaxing and socializing.

The first half of the space harbors two practice studios, the larger of which accommodates 30 yogis and includes infrared heating panels and livestream video for students who are practicing virtually.

Students can choose from a variety of classes, including:
  • Restorative yoga
  • Yin yoga
  • Meditation
  • Alignment-based yoga
  • Heated and nonheated vinyasa yoga
  • Heated and nonheated power yoga
The other half of the studio features an open-floor plan with comfortable seating, dozens of plants, and a full-service coffee and kombucha bar using products from K-Tonic Kombucha and Flora Coffee. The space will also have a small retail area offering clothes, gifts and locally made jewelry and artwork.

What else?

The Retreat offers a no-questions-asked sliding pay scale for all of its classes and memberships.

The backstory

The Retreat is one arm of Mantra Yoga Collective, a yoga group owned by Amy Hogan and Laura Teal that has offered virtual yoga classes, events and education opportunities in Northwest Austin since 2015.
