On Oct. 4 the Kyle City Council approved the allocation of capital improvement program funds from the 2021-22 budget to widen the frontage road and add a sidewalk in Kyle.
First, $33,665 will be allocated to do preliminary research and determine the budget to add an extra lane on the southbound frontage road from Marketplace Avenue to Martinez Loop.
According to council documents, the project will provide the groundwork to add a sidewalk.
Once the planning and permitting are completed, the project is estimated to take three months to complete.
Additionally, $113,50 will be allocated to design and acquire the permits to build a sidewalk along East FM 150 from Lehman Road to SH 21.
Once the research, designs and permits have been completed and acquired, the project is estimated to take four months to complete.
