Kyle City Council is moving forward with its latest development: Woodmere Park.

The development is located at 1500 E. RR 150. According to the development agreement, Woodmere will have single-family residences, townhomes and retail.

At its regular City Council meeting on Feb. 7, the development was brought up for reconsideration due to potential legal issues. A roll call vote to reconsider passed 4-3.

The development agreement was also tied to a request to rezone 54.2 acres, which passed along with the agreement in a 5-2 vote.

Originally, Woodmere was not going to have retail, a pedestrian trail or be a part of the Vybe Trail. Now, a portion of the project will be part of the Vybe Trail and include a “Vybe Spot,” which will be located at the intersection of E. RR 150 and New Country Road, ending at CR 158. The Vybe Spot will have a spring-fed pond, food truck area/beer garden and dog park.

“It’s a significantly improved project of what the developers could have constructed by right,” Mitchell told Community Impact.

The developers will now move forward with site plans and into construction.
