What would be your top priorities if you are elected?
JO: Maximize efficiency, offer first rate customer service and remain fiscally conservative. This can be a challenging goal if you consider the fact that Hays County is one of the fastest growing counties in the United States. However, I have a top-notch team whose top priority will always be to serve our customers with excellence, find innovative ways to use our resources and save the taxpayer money.

Educating our citizens: It is imperative for citizens to understand the property tax system. I want to highlight the importance of protesting value, if you believe it is above market value, and getting involved with your local taxing jurisdictions. These are the two items at play that effect your pocketbook when you get your tax bill. One of our goals for this next year is to film a short video series that will guide citizens through the different processes in the property tax calendar, in real time.
