Learn to Fish
Williamson County is inviting children of all ages to the Southwest Williamson County Regional Park for its annual Learn to Fish event. Local experts will be on hand to guide young anglers, provide fishing tips and teach different techniques. Fishing poles and tackle will be provided. Participants are encouraged to bring loose, comfortable clothing, a hat and closed-toe shoes.

The city of Round Rock is inviting residents to participate in the annual Flashlight Easter Egg Hunt at Old Settlers Park, where participants will bring a flashlight to find eggs, candy and prizes. The final hunt will be followed by a screening of “The Wild Robot” in the park. Tickets for this event are pre-sale only and no event-day registration is permitted.

Round Rock’s Parks and Recreation Department will host its 7th Annual UN-Birthday Party at the Play for All Abilities Park. Because everyone has one birthday per year, the event is a chance for individuals with disabilities and their families to celebrate their 364 “UN-Birthdays” together. The park will be closed to the public during the party, providing access to all the park has to offer.

The city of Pflugerville will have its annual festival celebrating the various cultures that make up the Pflugerville community. The event will feature live music with Grammy Award-nominated band Spin Doctors headlining, as well as food, games, art vendors and more.

The city of Round Rock will host its annual Donut Dash 5K, inviting runners and walkers to the downtown area where the race will start. At the midway point, participants will make a pit stop to enjoy Round Rock Donuts. Attendees can register for the challenger division, which gives runners an hour to run the 5K and eat a dozen donuts.

The Round Rock Veteran’s Coalition and city of Round Rock will host a Memorial Day ceremony to honor and remember fallen members of the military. Major General Michael McCurry and Alain Babin, Army veteran and former assistant chief of the Round Rock Police Department, will serve as guest speakers. Light refreshments will be served immediately following the ceremony.
