Round Rock ISD has extended a closure of campuses and cancellation of classes through Feb. 1 due to inclement weather.

This closure is paired with the cancellation of extracurricular activities.

The National Weather Service placed several Central Texas counties, including Williamson County, under a severe winter storm warning around 1 p.m. Jan. 30 that is in effect until noon Feb. 1. The warning predicts ice accumulation up to three-quarters of an inch may be possible in the Hill Country and Austin metro area with possible power outages and hazardous travel.

Those who must travel while this warning is in place are encouraged to bring flashlights, food and water in case of an emergency.
