Round Rock ISD will host several information sessions for interested community members to learn more about running for a seat on the board of trustees in November.

The election will determine who will serve four-year terms for places 3, 4, 5 and 6. It will also determine who will fill a vacancy in Place 1—following the resignation of Trustee Jun Xiao—to serve out the rest of the seat's term that expires in 2024.

To run for a position on the RRISD board of trustees, potential candidates must live within the district's bounds, and no registration is required to attend the information sessions. Each session will be led by Marcia McMahon, Texas Education Agency Lone Star Governance coach. McMahon is also a TEA monitor and a former district administrator.

Dates, times and locations for the information sessions are as follows:
  • July 20: Westwood High School Library Great Room, 10-11:30 a.m.
  • July 20: McNeil High School Cafeteria, 1-2:30 p.m.
