The Storehouse, a food pantry at 1202 FM 685, Ste. 4, Pflugerville, has closed after serving the community for 13 years.
Owner and co-founder Jack Cochrun confirmed the closing, saying he was “eternally grateful to everyone who supported us.
“Circumstances and a lack of funding have forced us to close,” Cochrun said in a phone call.
The Storehouse, founded by Cochrun and his wife, Sandra, partnered with local churches in the community to help families in need of food.
Cochrun said they served more than 800 Pflugerville-area families each month. In 2003, the first pantry operated at AAA Storage in Pflugerville, feeding 4,000 people the first year.
At the 10 a.m. opening time Tuesday morning, a sign was taped to the front door of the business announcing the closure and thanking the community for its support.
