Bastrop Live Music Foundation will host a fall fundraiser at 602 Brewing Co. to raise money for its mentorship and music programs. The fundraiser is set to include live music, food, raffles and a costume contest, Robert Kraft, executive director of the Bastrop Live Music Foundation, announced in a newsletter.

The foundation is holding its fall fundraiser on Oct. 23 to raise funds to expand programs, Kraft said in the newsletter. Locals can donate to the organization by purchasing raffle tickets for various goods and services donated by local businesses and individuals.
“You may not have 100 bucks to donate, but you might have five or 10 bucks to spend on a raffle ticket for some pretty amazing items or services,” Kraft wrote. “Multiply that by a few hundred people, and we are talking about some real money!”
In 2025, Bastrop Live Music Foundation raised almost $7,000 at a past fundraiser. Raffle items include a Seagull acoustic-electric guitar. This year, Kraft hopes to raise $15,000-$20,000 through raffles and donor matching to fund the mentorship program for 2027. The foundation currently supports seven students in the program who play either the piano, saxophone or violin.
The background
The nonprofit was created in 2022 by Kraft, a Bastrop actor and musician, according to previous Community Impact reporting. Bastrop Live Music Foundation has several different programs, including community workshops, a mentorship program and instrument and equipment distribution. The foundation also hosts a prison music program to host concerts for people incarcerated at the Travis County State Jail Facility.
Additionally, the foundation helps local venues book and finance shows so Bastrop residents don’t have to drive to Austin to hear some of their favorite bands, Kraft said.
“Between our live music initiatives at local venues, our prison music program, our gear for good program, and our music mentors program, we are striving to make the world a better place, in all of the ways that music can do that,” Kraft said.

Kraft asks supporters of the Bastrop Live Music Foundation’s mission to make the world a better place through its music programs to spare whatever they can to keep the foundation alive, he said.
“Come out to our fundraiser, buy a raffle ticket for some amazing goods and services, listen to some music from amazing local Bastrop musicians and maybe participate in the costume contest,” Kraft said. “And know that it is all going to a good cause.”
Bastrop locals can reach out to [email protected] to donate a product, service or heirloom to the raffle. The foundation is seeking both physical items and services for the raffle, including high-end items, manicures, pedicures, skincare services, instruments and more.
Individuals can also donate directly to Bastrop Live Music Foundation’s programs online, with cash or a check.
