On Thursday, Insys Therapeutics Inc. announced an expansion of its Round Rock location with an additional $24 million investment. The business is located at 2700 Oakmont Drive.

"This expansion will provide additional jobs for the local community and contribute to the continued economic growth in this area," Insys Vice President and General Manger Bryan Waltrip said. "We are excited both as a company and as a local partner to be a part of this exciting opportunity."

The money will be used for new equipment within their facility, which will enable the company to create new jobs in the area.

Insys is already in the process of completing a 30,000-square-foot expansion. The pharmaceutical manufacturer is headquartered in Chandler, Ariz.

"This type of facility is a tremendous compliment to the businesses already in the area and their expansion further develops the foundation we are building for future growth in the bioscience industry," Round Rock Chamber Director of Business Retention and Expansion Saridon Stanton said.
