Hutto City Council is expected to approve an agreement June 6 with Hutto ISD for road improvements at the Limmer Loop and Exchange Boulevard intersection.

Two-minute impact

Improvements for the intersection include a new traffic signal and an eastbound turn lane, which will require right of way dedication from HISD property.

The roadwork is meant to allow students safer passage to Cottonwood Creek Elementary School, according to an update from the city.

The Hutto ISD board of trustees approved the interlocal agreement with the city of Hutto May 22.

The $1.1 million project is expected to be budgeted for by the city in the fiscal year 2024-25 capital improvement fund. To date, the city has spent a total of $76,901 towards design and engineering plans for the intersection. Hutto ISD will also contribute $250,000 to the project.

The project is anticipated to go out to bid in September with construction following in December, according to the city’s project dashboard. Construction is expected to be completed by June 2025.
