The Texas House of Representatives is accepting public comments from state residents regarding power outages and related winter storm experiences by Feb. 25. The House Committee on State Affairs will discuss statewide electrical blackouts and subsequent responses in a meeting Feb. 25 at 9 a.m. There are 196,454 state outages across Texas as of 9:56 a.m. Feb. 19, according to PowerOutage.US, an independent power tracker during disasters. Of those 196,454 outages, nearly 27,896 are reported in Travis County and more than 8,687 in Williamson County.

Austin Energy noted in a press release there is still no substantive time estimate for “full restoration,” and outages would remain until the emergency energy needs had been resolved. For more information on Austin Energy's outage map, click here.
