With lederhosen on display, beer and bratwursts ready for consumption, and carnival rides ready to be boarded, the 48th Annual Deutschen Pfest will kick off this weekend, Oct. 18-19, at Pfluger Park in Pflugerville.

The overview

The city of Pflugerville’s Deutschen Pfest will feature a biergarten, carnival rides, live music, pretzel-eating contests, stein-holding competitions, a fun run and other entertainment.

The festival will have a kids zone, including a Ferris wheel, carousel, food vendors and a petting zoo. Children 13 and under can also compete in a pretzel-eating contest.

Along with an assortment of beers, sausages and other food, the biergarten will feature a big screen for guests to watch The University of Texas football game. Bands will perform throughout the festival, with live music taking place both Friday and Saturday.


What else?

The festival will be held from Oct. 18, 5-11:30 p.m.; and Oct. 19, 8 a.m.-11 p.m. General admission tickets are $10, Friday; and $15, Saturday. Children 6 and under get in free.

No parking will be available at Pfluger Park. However, the city is providing a free parking and shuttle service, with parking available at Pflugerville High School, 1301 W. Pecan St., on Friday; and at The Pfield, 1440 W. Pecan St., on Saturday.
