Some important PfISD dates this year include:
- Sept. 1: First student holiday for Labor Day
- Nov. 24-28: Thanksgiving break
- Dec. 22-Jan. 5: Winter break
- March 16-20: Spring break
- May 21: Last day of school
PfISD announced a soft launch of a new pilot program for student ID cards, meant to make bus ridership safer and more efficient. The program provides students with cards utilizing contactless technology, replacing manual checks when getting on and off buses.
For secondary school students, the new cards will replace their existing ID. Elementary students will also be provided the cards for the first time. The cards may also be used for food service, checking out books from the library, attending school events and more. They will be distributed early in the school year and PfISD will provide more detailed information about the card distribution.
