New transportation barn in the works for Hutto ISD

A new transportation hub for Hutto ISD operations is in the works, under a $10 million bond-funded initiative to purchase new school buses and make operational upgrades.

In a March 12 Hutto Area Chamber of Commerce luncheon, HISD Superintendent Jeni Neatherlin shared an update on the new transportation facility, which will be located along Chris Kelley Boulevard, south of the railroad tracks crossing much of the district, to help ease traffic, decrease fuel costs and shorten trips.


Strategic plan and school funding: Pflugerville ISD updates to know

A task force to help shape Pflugerville ISD's new strategic plan recently completed its list of action items.

Superintendent Quintin Shepherd provided the task force's findings, along with other key education updates from the Texas Legislature during a Pflugerville Chamber of Commerce event in March.

The task force, made up of 65 parents, students, teachers and other community members, met nine times over the course of five months to create a list of findings and directions.

Hutto ISD approves learning materials for 2025-26 school year

Hutto ISD will not make major changes to its curriculum for the 2025-26 school year, although the name of the mathematics curriculum used by the district has had its name changed.

Trustees approved the use of the same learning materials for the coming school year that the district is using in the 2024-25 school year:
  • HMH reading and language arts curriculum
  • McGraw Hill social studies
  • Bluebonnet mathematics.
