The overview
The PCDC is a Texas Economic Development Corporation that collects a $0.05 sales tax with the goal of promoting economic development in the city.
Jones will lead efforts to improve Pflugerville’s economy through business attraction, expansion efforts, local retention programs, workforce education initiatives and marketing strategies.
“I am excited to welcome aboard a talent like Jerry to lead our organization. His commitment to community development through effective relationship building is well-aligned to support our strategic development goals for Pflugerville,” PCDC Board President Jeff Thompson said in the release. “Jerry brings a wealth of experience and skill to the position that I am excited to see in action, and I am very pleased to welcome him and his family as new members of our growing Pflugerville Pfamily.”
The background
The PCDC’s board undertook a nationwide search following the retirement of Amy Madison, who served as the executive director for over 10 years.
After Madison announced her retirement in April, the board appointed Terri Toledo in June to serve as the interim director.
Prior to moving to Pflugerville, Jones’ previous positions included serving as the project manager for Central Louisiana Business Incubator, the executive director of the Baton Rouge North Economic Development District and the economic development director of the city of Richmond’s Development Corporation.
