From a bakery to a BBQ joint to a mattress store, several new businesses are now open in Hutto.

After closing its dining room in March 2020, bakery and coffee shop Baked ‘n Sconed reopened for dining in, in mid-June, according to owner Tiffany Anders. Food truck Kona’s TX BBQ opened Aug. 4 at 209 Farley St., Hutto. The menu at Kona's has a selection of Texas-style smoked meats and sandwiches. Owner Shawn Warbiana said Kona’s fills the spot formerly occupied by Pustka Family Barbeque, which moved to Temple in early July. Mexican restaurant Pollos Asados El Norteno opened a second brick-and-mortar location at 133 E. Front St., Ste. 500, Hutto, in late July. The menu includes gorditas, tortas and its signature roasted chicken.
