Plans for a 19-story office tower near the forthcoming Major League Soccer stadium at McKalla Place are taking shape after some initial changes to the project's scope. Capella Capital Partners, an Austin-based real estate development firm, announced March 8 that its 450,000-square-foot office tower project at 10615 Burnet Road, Austin, will break ground in late 2019. The building, now named Arena Tower, will consist of 10 floors of office space above nine floors of structured parking with retail space also located on the ground floor. Office floor plans total 35,000-50,000 square feet, and the project include a 7,000-square-foot terrace and shared amenities on the 10th floor. In May, the development was announced as a 22-story, high-rise tower with 285 apartment units and an 11-story office building as well as a shared seven-story parking garage. The multifamily tower was planned to total 320,000 square feet with 20,000 square feet for retail. Since then, plans have scaled back to no longer include any multifamily residential units.
