Bulevar Mexican Kitchen, a 100% gluten-free eatery by Guy + Larry Restaurants, opened Aug. 31 in the former location of Z'Tejas Southwest Grill in the Arboretum at 9400 Arboretum Blvd., Austin.
The Mexican menu includes hand-pressed tortillas, steaks, fire-cooked fish, crudos or raw fish, fresh oysters and an organic half chicken with corn butter. Executive Chef Kevin Taylor, who is also the operating partner of ATX Cocina in downtown Austin, uses modern approaches combined with traditional Latin American flavors. He offers a full-service bar with a drink menu with Mexican and American wines, whiskeys and gins. A wood-fired grill, a bar, tall ceilings and large glass windows overlooking Northwest Austin are a part of the restaurant interior.
