2. Austin Zoo and Animal Sanctuary’s annual
Boo at the Zoo starts Friday and runs through Oct. 29. The zoo, 10808 Rawhide Trail, Austin, becomes illuminated and decorated for the Halloween occasion. Attendees can wear a costume, bring a picnic to eat in the picnic grove, ride a haunted train, explore a haunted house and see the zoo animals at night with a flashlight. Adult attendees wearing a costume may not wear a mask. second and final weekend of
Austin City Limits Music Festival is Friday through Sunday. The lineup for the annual festival includes Radiohead, Mumford & Sons, Kendrick Lamar and LCD Soundsystem, among others. Attendees can purchase food and drinks at the ACL Eats Food Court, and visit an art market and a mini-fest for children. Bethany United Methodist Church hosts its annual pumpkin patch through Oct. 31 at 10010 Anderson Mill Road, Austin. Proceeds from pumpkin sales benefits the church’s student ministry for mission trips, youth events, retreats and a choir tour.
