The third annual White Linen Night is returning to Austin’s 2nd Street District at 6 p.m. Aug. 1. The event will feature food from nearby Austin restaurants as well as wine pairings.
The 2nd Street District is located in the center of downtown and features more than 50 specialty shops, services and dining destinations. The White Linen Night block party will take place throughout the 2nd Street District where businesses will have free, in-store events and raffles.
Attendees can also witness a public art unveiling, which will be on display during the next year in the district. All proceeds made at the event will benefit the local nonprofit Urban Roots.
Urban Roots offers paid internships to Austin youth between ages 14 to 17 at a 3.5-acre urban sustainable farm in East Austin. By working together on this farm, interns learn about community connections, the importance of healthy eating and urban farming.
“Urban Roots is thrilled to be part of this special event,” said Max Elliott, executive director of Urban Roots, in a statement. “Now more than ever, we truly appreciate this support to continue growing food and nourishing the community.”
After the main festivities of the block party come to an end, an official VIP after-party at The Bonneville will begin at 9 p.m. For more information, visit
