The first Texas location for VooDoo Doughnuts will open in Austin sometime in 2015.[/caption]Portland-based doughnut shop Voodoo Doughnut will open sometime in 2015, management confirmed March 12.
No exact opening date has been set at 212 E. Sixth St., Where past tenant Bourbon Girl closed earlier this year. Voodoo Doughnut applied March 9 for a sign permit for the new location, the company's first in Texas and sixth overall. There are four Oregon locations and an additional Voodoo Donut location in Denver.
Other Voodoo Doughnut locations feature menus that offer specialty donuts, which come in various shapes, such as a voodoo doll, as well as toppings, fillings and other flavors. All stores are cash only, according to the website. Doughnut prices start at 95 cents.
A documentary was made about Voodoo Doughnut called Gimme Doughnut. The Oregon eatery was also featured on a Travel Channel shows, which spotlighted the legal weddings the shop performs.
