The effects from the winter blast that immobilized North Texas are finally disappearing, but they have left behind some changes in the city of Frisco's winter event schedule.
Merry Main Street, originally scheduled for Dec. 7, was canceled. However, the annual tree lighting ceremony and Kids' Holiday Store have been rescheduled for Dec. 13.
The Kids' Holiday Store, for children ages 3-12, is open from 5-9 p.m. inside the municipal center, 6101 Frisco Square Blvd. The event offers children the opportunity to find a gift for their parents. All gifts in the store are priced at $5 or less. Volunteers will assist shoppers and wrap gifts.
The tree lighting ceremony is set for 6 p.m. in Simpson Plaza, in front of the municipal center.
Breakfast with Santa, a sold out event, has been postponed until Dec. 21.
The Gingerbread House Contest has been relocated to the Frisco Athletic Center, 5828 Nancy Jane Lane. They are on display in the lobby throughout the week.
The Frosty 5K and Merry Mile are still scheduled for Dec. 14.
The holiday events were rescheduled after inclement weather forced the cancellation ofMerry Main Street Dec. 7. Breakfast with Santa, also planned for last Saturday, was postponed until Dec. 21. The sold-out event will take place at the previously scheduled time that day.
