Georgetown-based All Things Kids is expanding to Austin, where it will open the company's second location. Owners Karen and Christian Soeffker announced May 30 they will open the specialty toy store in The Domain II, 3220 Feathergrass Court, Ste. 132, near Yogurt Planet.
"Our toys are hand-picked from Europe and the USA, chosen for their high quality as well as educational properties," Karen Soeffker said.
She said the shop will be set up similarly to the Georgetown location and, along with toys, will sell candy and books and host events, including birthday parties and children's workshops, in the store's play zone.
"We carry the top 100 classic books of all time as well as retro toys and candy that are just plain fun," she said.
The store, which could open in September, will also offer drop-in play time that would allow customers to drop off their children for up to two hours while they shop and dine in The Domain.
"So many people have asked us when are we coming to Austin, and we can't imagine a better second location," she said. "Being at The Domain will also give us the opportunity to let Austin know how wonderful Georgetown is."
Soeffker and her husband opened the company's first retail location in 2011 and have since been named Small Business of the Year by the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce.
"It is wonderful to have been recognized by our peers and [that] is certainly helping us in discussions with potential investors," Christian Soeffker said.
Karen Soeffker said the couple is still seeking investors for the project.
