Salon by milk+honey left its Colorado Street location and merged with milk+honey spa at 100A Guadalupe St. on Dec. 12.

Summer Langhorne, general manager of the downtown milk+honey spa location, said the move was made to create more space for clients and employees to relax and prepare for their days.

She said staff had renovated the previous location on Colorado Street multiple times to allow it to meet their needs, but there still was not enough space.

"We wanted to give our clients an intentional experience with a well planned-out space," Langhorne said. "Our employees didn't have a lot of space in the back where they could relax. We were on top of each other. [With the new space], we were able to design a space where our employees could relax and prepare for their day without being on top of one another."

The combined space offers a full range of spa and salon treatments, including massages, waxing, hair care, manicures, pedicures, body wraps, scrubs and steams. Massages range from $95 for an hour to $170 for two hours.

Langhorne said staff has heard good things from customers about the larger space, which has features including steam showers.

"We've had a ton of positive feedback, which is really affirming since we spent so much time planning," Langhorne said. "There's more space [for customers] to relax."

Milk+honey spa was founded in 2006 by Alissa Bayer. The spa and salon has a second location at the Hill Country Galleria, 12901 Hill Country Blvd., Bee Cave. For more information or to schedule an appointment, visit www.milkandhoneyspa.com or call 512-236-1115.
