What started with Dini Snow buying furniture from Amy Offield on Craigslist ended with the two women opening a business together.

Remixologie, which opened in January at 5701 Burnet Road, mostly sells mid-century modern vintage furniture that has been refinished and upholstered. The store also carries jewelry and home accessories.

"When people love mid-century furniture, they love it," Snow said. "They hunt it down and find it."

After originally buying furniture from her on Craigslist, Snow said she kept in contact with Offield because she liked her taste. The two women ended up becoming friends and opening a booth together at the Austin Antique Mall, where they had a space for about a year before opening Remixologie.

Snow said the neighborhood around the Burnet Road location has been supportive. Most of their customers live nearby, she said.

"Everybody has been really positive," she said.
