As residents continue to be affected by residual effects of the mid-February winter storm, the city of New Braunfels has waived permit fees for emergency plumbing repairs and other projects through Aug. 23.
Officials on March 21 issued a news release stating the city is expediting permits to assist with rapid repairs and minimize the financial impact of the storm.
Among the stipulations involved in the temporary waiver, property owners or licensed plumbers will not require a permit for minor repairs on freeze-damaged or leaking water pipes, but a plumbing permit is needed for larger repairs involving multiple pipes generally affecting a home's entire plumbing system, the release states.
