Two-Part Online Watercolor Workshop

Award-winning artist Tom Lynch will take students through a step-by-step process to create a painting using different watercolor techniques. Students will be provided with the photo reference, a preliminary sketch and color references. There will also be a viewing in the Bower classroom.

Protecting Comal's Rural Heritage

The Comal County Conservation Alliance will host a community program focused on the preservation of the county’s rural heritage and provide tools to preserve its historic resources. The program will feature guest speakers Tiffany Osburn, regional archeologist with the Texas Historical Commission, and Cindy Coers, chair of the Comal County Historical Commission. The program will also highlight recent success and ways historic and archeological site preservation can protect Comal County’s rural heritage.

Eighth annual Festival of Trees

There will be designer Christmas trees, table decor and wreaths available for purchase. There will also be free photos with Santa and raffles. Proceeds will benefit the Comal County Senior Citizen Foundation.

Attendees will receive complimentary beverages while shopping around Gruene’s Historic District.

Weihnachtsmarkt

Shop for Christmas at this annual market, which benefits the Sophienburg Museum & Archives. There will also be breakfast and a photo opportunity with Santa as well as arts and crafts.

Wassailfest

This annual event is held on the first Thursday of December. Over 75 shops, restaurants, bakeries and nonprofit organizations will compete for the best Wassail, a traditional hot spiced German cider. Attendees will be able to listen to Christmas carols while tasting and voting on the best Wassail recipe.

Holidays in Gruene: Gruene Town Lighting

There will be a brass band street performance at 5 p.m. followed by the annual town lighting at 6 p.m. Cowboy Kringle will ride into town on horseback and hand out candy canes to children.

New Braunfels Conservation Society will host its annual Christmas market, which will have a wide variety of gift items.
Holidays in Gruene: Annual Jingle Bell Run/Walk

Proceeds for this event will go toward the children of SJRC Texas. There will also be a holiday costume contest, hot cocoa, coffee, sausage wraps, beer and pictures with Santa.
The Polar Express Experience

The Brauntex Performing Arts Theatre will screen “The Polar Express.” There will also be a special appearance from Santa Claus before the movie. Attendees are encouraged to wear pajamas.
