New Braunfels Utilities updated its timelines for overnight road closures May 18 affected by the Castell Avenue 24-inch Waterline Project.

Through May 30, South Castell will remain closed from Elm Street to Butcher Street, according to a release from the NBU. That portion was initially expected to reopen April 4, according to prior press releases.

Butcher to Coll Street will also remain closed through June 6.

Overnight closures from Coll to San Antonio Street will last until September from 1-11 a.m. daily for overnight and early morning construction.

The 24-inch ductile iron water line and wastewater lines are being installed by D. Guerra Construction as part of the NBU’s $14.7 million 145 capital improvement projects.

The project will send water from downtown New Braunfels to the County Line storage tank and replace aging infrastructure that has been subject to water main breaks in recent years.
