No Bad Days Kayak, a full-service kayak shop, opened in New Braunfels at 6700 I-35 on June 1.

The kayak shop sells and rents a variety of kayaks, including inflatables and recreational kayaks. No Bad Days Kayak also offers apparel, paddles, fishing rods, lures and other fishing tools.

The details

The outfitter sells watercraft from the brands Hobie, Old Town, Native, Bonafied, NuCanoe, Hoodoo, Diablo, FeelFree, Bote and Badfish.

Shop owner Forest Greene, said they wanted to ensure people have a good time on the water and provide great customer service.

"We're not [going to] misdirect you and say, 'Don't go get an inflatable. We're not [going to] say, 'Don't get a brand that we don't have.' If that's what your budget is for and that's what your goals are on the water and we can't make you happy, we're [going to] tell you where to go to become happy. If there's a boat that we don't have, we'll figure out how to get it, whether if it's from another dealer or if we've got to make an order," Greene said.

Customers can take the kayaks out for a test paddle at Texas Ski Ranch before making their purchase.

"We can demo kayaks at any point ... ." Greene said. "If you want to try one of the boats before you buy, all you got to do is give us a call and give us an hour or two heads up, and we'll get you out on the lake."

Diving in deeper

No Bad Days Kayak also has an online retail shop and their own trucking company equipped to safely ship large watercraft throughout the country. If a kayak purchased from the shop becomes damaged after purchase, the business will also help coordinate repairs with the manufacturer. The outfitter will also fully rig kayaks purchased from them for free and add any accessories the purchaser wants, including fish finders or an anchor trolley.

"We also don't want to be a fly-by-night store; we want to support the boat before, during, and after ... . If you have any problems with it, bring it back to us," Greene said. "We know the manufacturers. We have the relationships, [and] we can fix the boat on-site. That boat should last your lifetime. Keep bringing it back. We'll keep getting back out on the water."
