Texas Folklife hosted its fourteenth annual Big Squeeze accordion competition on May 1, where Seguin youth Isaak Wolfshohl won the polka category with his performances of “Rosemunde” and “Bergvagabunden."

The statewide competition, held online this year due to the coronavirus, awarded accordion musicians in the genres of conjunto, polka, Cajun and zydeco.

According to Texas Folklife's website, the event was the culmination of accordion programming that began in February.

Winners of the competition receive prizes and future performance opportunities.
