Voters throughout Texas, including those in Leander and Liberty Hill, will head to the polls Nov. 5 to cast ballots in a slate of races, ranging from president to state representatives to school board trustees, and on several local propositions.

More than half of registered voters in both Williamson and Travis counties have voted early.

Here's a quick guide to voting on Election Day.

1. When to vote

Polls are open on Election Day from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. statewide. According to the Texas secretary of state, voters who are in line at 7 p.m. are entitled to cast their ballot.

Nov. 5 is also the last day for ballots by mail to be received, although they will also be accepted Nov. 6 if the carrier envelope is postmarked by 7 p.m. at the location of the election on Election Day.

2. Where to vote

Voters in both Travis County and Williamson County can cast a ballot at any polling location in the county in which they are registered to vote.
