Parents and staff members in Liberty Hill ISD can now share their thoughts on the academic calendar for next school year.

What you need to know

The district is asking parents, guardians and staff members to complete an online survey through Jan. 12 as officials begin developing the academic calendar for the 2024-25 school year. The survey asks respondents which type of community member they are and how much they agree or disagree with certain calendar features.

The calendar will include the following guidelines, according to the district’s website:
  • 187 staff days
  • 75,600 instructional minutes required for students
  • Full week for Thanksgiving break
  • Two weeks for winter break
  • Spring break aligning with Austin Community College
  • Ending the school year before June
The district may adjust its starting date to allow students and staff more days off throughout the school year, according to the survey. The survey will close at 5 p.m. on Jan. 12.

What’s next?

District officials plan to use survey results to develop and present a calendar recommendation to the board of trustees at its Feb. 20 meeting, Kristin Coulter, LHISD chief of strategic planning and partnerships, said at a Dec. 18 meeting.
