Leander mayoral candidates Vic Villarreal and Troy Hill have each brought in over $20,000 in campaign donations, according to their respective campaign finance reports.

Both candidates vie for votes until polls close Saturday, June 16, at 7 p.m. In the May 5 general election, Hill ended with 42.51 percent of the vote and Villarreal followed with 31.87 percent of the vote. Along with third-place candidate Adam C. Benefield, none of the candidates were able to secure over 50 percent of the votes, resulting in a runoff election.

During the race, Villarreal and Hill submitted campaign finance reports. Their campaign contributions are summarized below. In-kind donations, which are nonmonetary gifts such as goods or services, are not included.

Villarreal garnered approximately $27,500 while Hill gathered approximately $22,275, according to the reports. Villarreal's largest donors were Michael and Mary Elmore of Leander, followed by individuals and groups out of Dallas and Austin. He had 52 different donors.

Hill's largest donor was the Texas Stronger PAC in Leander followed by the Texas Stronger PAC in Georgetown. He had 39 different donors.
