What we reported Cavender Auto Family representatives broke ground on the forthcoming Toyota of Cedar Park dealership June 15. The dealership will be located on more than 15 acres of property. Austin-based Gensler Architects is the architecture firm designing the dealership.


The latest The dealership will open in April and will offer sales, leasing, financing, and a parts and services department. Amenities will include a cafe with specialty local coffee and food; a boutique with home decor, apparel and accessories; a pet-friendly outdoor space; and an indoor children’s play zone.


What’s next Toyota will host a grand opening of the Cedar Park location in mid-April. The dealership is already an active member of the Cedar Park Chamber of Commerce and plans to remain in the community for years to come, according to spokesperson Claire Cavender.

What we reported The new 20,000-square-foot clinic at 801 E. Whitestone Blvd., Bldg. C, Cedar Park, broke ground in January 2016.


The latest The clinic opened for patients Dec. 12 with 52 exam room and offers family medicine, internal medicine and pediatric care. At a Dec. 15 ribbon cutting, Mayor Matt Powell said residents no longer need to leave Cedar Park for much of their health care needs.


What’s next The new clinic replaces the ARC Discovery location at 715 Discovery Blvd., Ste. 117, Cedar Park, and the clinic at 801 E. Whitestone Blvd., Bldg. B, Cedar Park, which will be renovated and turned into a same-day and after-hours care center. It will be ARC’s first standalone urgent care facility.

What we reported Cedar Park
Nissan announced in June that it would open a new location on Bell Boulevard in Cedar Park in 2017.


The latest The car dealership plans to open in February and sell new, used and certified cars, trucks, and SUVs. The facility will offer a Nissan showroom, express maintenance and technical service as well as conveniences such as a shuttle service, loaner cars and haggle-free digital purchasing.


What’s next A ribbon cutting and grand opening celebration is planned to take place in the spring after the Nissan dealership is officially open for business. General Manager Jim Wilkinson said the business will join the Cedar Park Chamber of Commerce, and he said the dealership plans to partner with the community on education programs.
