Several local roadways are undergoing repairs as part of a two- to three-week asphalt overlay project in Lakeway the week of Thanksgiving, resulting in reduced lanes and potential delays for drivers, according to a statement from the city Nov. 19.

Repairs began Nov. 22 and will continue though Nov. 24 before picking up again the following week. No asphalt work will be completed on Thanksgiving Day or the day after. Debba Drive, Cavalier Canyon Drive and Sparrow Lane were scheduled to undergo repairs first. A full list of roads undergoing repairs is available on the city’s website.

The Lakeway Activity Center parking lot will undergo seal coating and re-striping work Nov. 24 and will be completed Nov. 27. The parking area will be partially closed during this time, but additional parking is available at City Hall and the Justice Complex if needed during that time. Similar work was completed at the Lakeway Swim Center parking lot on Nov. 20 and Nov. 21.

A separate set of roadways also underwent asphalt repairs the previous week, but the current project is longer-term and expected to have a greater effect on traffic patterns, according to Lakeway Communications Director Jarrod Wise. More traffic controls are in place to remedy this problem, Wise said.
