Baylor Scott & White celebrates its 10th anniversary in Lakeway this year, marking a decade of expanding services and deepening community ties in one of the region's fastest-growing areas, hospital President Philippe Bochaton said.
The hospital opened in 2016 with a main campus and accompanying specialty clinic and has grown steadily alongside the Lakeway community ever since.
The early days
What started as a committed investment in the area has grown to nearly 500 employees, with specialties added over the years, including cardiology, neurology and gastroenterology. Being part of the larger Baylor Scott & White system, Bochaton said, has given the Lakeway campus access to resources and technology it otherwise wouldn't have.

The hospital has earned Magnet Recognition for nursing excellence along with certifications in robotic surgery.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, the hospital partnered with the city to operate a drive-thru vaccine site when doses first became available in 2021.
Giving back
As a nonprofit, BSW Lakeway also offers charity care and financial assistance programs for qualifying patients and has built partnerships with Lake Travis ISD and local organizations.
"We aim to be a proactive health partner helping individuals and families live longer, healthier and more fulfilling lives," Bochaton said.
The hospital has also maintained an ongoing partnership with city officials and the local chamber of commerce, relationships Bochaton said have been central to the campus's growth and staying connected to the community's needs.
What's next
Bochaton, who has been with the hospital since it opened, says the next decade is about meeting patients where they are—including at home. That includes walk-in access at any hour, even in the middle of the night, where patients can go in for a doctor’s visit if they aren't feeling well.
BSW is also working to expand its digital offerings, bringing technology-driven care options directly to the Lakeway community. This includes investing in artificial intelligence-assisted tools aimed at earlier detection and better outcomes while increasing around-the-clock access to providers.
"This journey has just gotten started," Bochaton said. "We're here for the long term."
